Holland Editions: Year Two!

As some of you know, one of Holland’s coolest fundraisers is the Holland Editions project–a very awesome print-of-the-month club featuring 12 artists (one per month) who are commissioned to design an original, limited edition print masterpiece.   There are only 30 spots available each year and this year is almost full, but not quite!  This is an incredible project and a perfect way to collect original artwork for INSANE prices (roughly $20 a print, about 10% of what these artists normally sell their work for).

Since there are a few spots left, we would love for you to spread the word and send to your people to see if we can fill the remaining subscriptions. This year is packed full of fantastic artists– including renowned UK designer Anthony Burrill, National Geographic lead designer Oliver Uberti, UNR printmaking star Eunkang Koh, and amazing, young up-and-comers–Ashley Westwood, Gabby Guerrero, Alex Sorrell, Evan Dent, and more!

It’s $240 for the entire year (you can pay in full, or in two installments). Email hollandreno[at]gmail.com if you, or anyone you know, would like to subscribe!

DANIEL FRANCIS DOYLE+The HUMANS and just added STARSKATE

The master of loops Daniel Francis Doyle will collide with the rockin’ musical styles of the Humans on November 13 at the HPHQ 7:30PM. The great collision will be set on the noisy mathy minimal-esque soundscape of Oakland’s Starskate. Woooweewoo, this is going to rule. Daniel Francis Doyle will kill it with his rocking (yet heartfelt) music, The Humans will rock the hell out of you, and Starskate will fill you with profound thoughts of future times. Be there if you are rad. November 13, HPHQ 7:30PM $5. ALLLLRIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHHTTTTT!!!!!!!

Screen Printing Workshop

Interested in learning a new useful craft? You betcha, you are! Come to the silk screening workshop taught by Kyle Kozar at Rainshadow (121 Vesta St) on Saturday November 13th and Sunday November 14th from 12pm – 3pm to learn how to print images on to posters, shirts, CDs, etc. with the ancient art of silk screening.  Silkscreening first appeared in China around 960 AD and is carried on today with rad people like you. Day one: we will go over building screens and putting your image on the screen, and Day Two: methods and printing. This workshop will be forever useful to your artists endeavors but space is limited so YOU MUST RSVP! Only $15 for a lifetime of rad shirts!

UPDATE: This workshop is FULL.  A second one has been added on November 20-21.  Same time.  RSVP to hollandreno@gmail.com.
