1-3-6 is a fundraising effort to transform and build out 136 Vesta Street as a community hub that will house KWNK 97.7FM and Laika Press; expand Holland’s outdoor footprint and collaborative initiatives; and create an opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM KWNK:

“We are thrilled to announce that KWNK is set to lay down permanent roots in a new location – 136 Vesta Street – alongside current friends and community partners: Laika Press and the newly minted Vesta Block Market (from the folks behind Neon Babylon, the Plants are Alright, and La Selva De Dos Mujeres). 136 Vesta is just down the street from our current studio and is next door to long-time partners and collaborators, the Holland Project.

The move to 136 will allow KWNK to build new studio and recording spaces, create a space for live studio recordings from local and touring artists, dial in mixing and editing stations (alongside new equipment), and will serve as KWNK’s admin and operational headquarters for all our community DJs, volunteers, partners and staff.

In addition to KWNK’s footprint at new location, 136 Vesta will also house Laika Press, with a new printmaking studio, workshop space, and darkroom; and Vesta Block Market, an innovative collective and retail outfit based in community outreach, entrepreneurship and design.

This move keeps us in the neighborhood we love and have called home for more than 5 years, while allowing the station to continue to grow and thrive in all the necessary ways. We can’t wait to enter this next chapter with you all.”
