Youth Board of Directors Application
The Holland Project: Reno, NV

The Holland Project is pleased to announce an opportunity for the youth of Northern Nevada to be a part of The HP’s first ever Youth Board of Directors. Now that the project is nearly up and running, we need motivated young people like you who are serious about making the project a truly youth led endeavor to help create the vision, and most importantly, to help sustain this project that is so badly needed in Reno. We need young people in our community (age 13-18) who are committed to leading your peers in the arts, to step up and become a dedicated member of The Holland Project’s first Youth Board of Directors!

The Application will have questions like these…

1. What is your interest or involvement in the arts?

2. What is your interest or involvement in music?

3. What is your interest or involvement in community service?

4. What specific talents, ideas, or skills do you have that you will bring to The Holland Project’s first Youth Board of Directors?

5. The Holland Project is 100% volunteer run. Considering that we are establishing a volunteer board, how much time will you be able to dedicate to The Holland Project?

6. Are you willing to make a one-year commitment to serve as a board member?

7. Does your schedule allow you to attend monthly evening meetings as well as committee meetings that may be deemed necessary?

8. What is your occupational and student background?

9. Please feel free to list any additional information about yourself below:

The mission of The Holland Project is to provide community youth a safe and supportive arts and entertainment center in which to fuel community and personal growth by fostering respect, creativity, education, community activism and individual empowerment through access to music, art and diverse learning opportunities. The goal is to redefine Reno as a place that is not just for adults. In making Holland both a reality and a success, we hope to further identify Reno as a cultural center with a vibrant urban scene where art and music thrive. To give teens a much-needed and long deserved venue to call their own in an effort to inspire, motivate, involve and empower.

10. In a concise, well-crafted document (no more than 300 words!), please describe how you, as a member of the Holland Project’s first Youth Board of Directors will help the Holland Project fulfill its mission and goal.
