Featured in the hallway gallery, local longtime artist and tattooer Ron Rash, will be exercising the demons of his own making in Retro-Catharsis, Powered by Gin. Working in a looser style of painting, reminiscent of his work from the 90′s, the large installation pieces reference Reno life and personal moments both good and bad. At the same time the main gallery will host Andrew Nixon’s first solo exhibition in the space with Wilderness, Pussy. The exhibition is an immersion into the multimedia world of Posey, an outcast teenage character. Featuring paintings, installations, animations, music and a comic book, the exhibit evokes all of the senses while weaving together a non-linear story of exploration, the wilds and teenage life. Both shows run May 20-June 7 with an opening reception Tues. May 21 6-8PM.
