Isolated Incidents+Where the Air Grows Thin

Isolated Incidents+Where the Air Grows Thin

Aug. 12-30 the Holland Project Gallery will be hosting two exhibitions. “Isolated Incidents” features collaborative collages and an installation by Washington-based sisters Rachel and Stephanie Smith. Drawing from their jobs as a state penitentiary art teacher and a woodworker at a modern foundry, the exhibit explores the themes of isolation and transformation. In the main space UNR BFA student Lee Stokes will be featuring her sculpture work in “Where the Air Grows Thin”. The small series of suspended pieces investigates the formal and informal compositions of balance. The opening reception for both exhibits is Sat. Aug. 17 6-8PM with an artist talk by the Smith sisters at 6:30PM. Gallery hours are Tues-Fri 3-6PM.
