*** CANCELLED – see our Community Health Update
Embracing the history of the sewing arts as a form of storytelling, recording family history, and protest, Reno-based artist Jen Graham uses traditional embroidery and patchwork techniques to both reinvestigate American history and discuss current political and social issues. This spring, Jen is hosting an Activist Embroidery workshop at The Holland Project for experienced artists and the embroidery-curious alike. We’ll work on some basic embroidery skills and discuss how to translate activism into fiber art.
This workshop is all ages and totally free, made possible in part by an Artist Fellowship from the Nevada Arts Council. The class is limited to ten students and advanced RSVP is required.
IN THE EVENT THIS WORKSHOP FILLS UP – please email alisha@hollandreno.org to be added to the waiting list and learn about future workshops.
