ACTORS + Creux Lies, Plastic Caves
March 19 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
| $7.5Revered for use of reverb-laden guitar work, creative synth structures, and dynamic vocals akin to the style of many early shades of 80’s pop darkness, Creux Lies are known as an alternative / post-punk / new romantic-esq project from Sacramento, California. Created out of the band formerly known as NMBRSTTN, singer Ean Clevenger, guitarist Barry Crider, synth/electronics David Wright, drummer Topher Snyder, and bassist Kyle Vorst have focused their creative vision toward a new path of electro-drenched melancholy sonic styling.
From Vancouver, Canada, ACTORS electrify with a modern take on post-punk. On debut full-length It Will Come to You, anthemic songs evoke the urgency of early-80’s U2 (Boy, October, War) as well as the driving, synth drenched scores that emanated from the era’s movie screens. As scene authority Post-Punk.com puts it, the band conjures “cinematic new-wave… that belongs on a Michael Mann soundtrack.”
Joining them, Plastic Caves are Reno’s finest post-punk, garage-punk, spooky band. With loud chorus drenched guitars, ice-cold vocal delivery, and booming, hypnotic drum parts.
