Casual Hex make killer off-kilter post-punk, sprinkling in No-Wave. Everything sounds a little off, distorted, modulated, and inhuman. You can hear snippets of bands like Pylon or Black Eyes in their sound, but I don’t think there’s anyone else that sounds quite like them. They released an album last year, Fleshed Out, and it highlights their uneasy and jagged take on No-Wave, and you should definitely listen to it. On tour with em are Berlin’s HYÄNE, making the best aggressive and noisy post-punk. You’llwanna trade in your eyeliner and hairspray for boots and chains to handle these guys. Joining em are locals Sans Ami, making tunes that mix powerviolence, grindcore and skramz into a force to be reckoned with. The Duo just put out a self-titled full length that ya gotta check out. To top it off, we have Tresed, the newest additions to the Reno punk repertoire. Tresed’s sound is drenched in chorus and distorted power chords, mixing 90’s grunge and space rock into an aggressive sound that would be impressive even if they weren’t all still in high school.
