Curse League are back!!
The Seattle based twinkly fingerboard tapping emo-punx are shredding their way down the coast again. Drawing from indie rock staples like Built to Spill, with the emo sensibilities and technical prowess of bands like Snowing and Algernon Cadwallader. Curse League just dropped a new album called Laying by the Fire in Good Company, and it rules! Joining em, Common Mishap are Sparks/Reno emo-punks, pulling dramatic and drawn out refrains and mixing em into fast and loud choruses and riffs galore. Their tunes are emotionally charged and thoughtful, in the vein of bands like Balance and Composure or Into It Over It. Nubbins are local purveyors of “extreme elevator music”. What does that mean? There’s jazz, fingerboard tapping, and plenty O’ prog. They have their debut EP out on 9.5, and you know it’s gonna be good. To top it off, Venom is not only a percussion student of Greg Lewis, but a rapper/producer making incredible emo-tinged trap tunes. It’s gonna be nuts
