Ersatz Lascaux-Reno + Dry Well Opening Reception
June 10, 2016 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
We have two radical new exhibitions gracing the Holland Project Gallery from June 7-24 that you won’t want to miss!
Cincinnati based artist, Paul Thie, will be taking over the main gallery space for his exhibition Ersatz Lascaux-Reno which includes abstract paintings on odd sizes and shapes of un-stretched canvas and masonite. Paul combines bits and pieces of discarded imagery from everyday life to create a sort of patchwork highlighting the incongruities and absurdities of popular culture.
In the hallway space we are stoked to have new works by our good friend Alana-Lynn Berglund. In her exhibition Dry Well, Berglund combines thrifted fabrics and objects with personal photographs, embroidery, and printed textiles in an effort to champion the non-sensical blending of styles, aesthetics, and eras one so often sees on the gaming floor of Nevada casinos.
Join us for an Opening Reception on Friday, June 10 from 6-8pm. Paul Thie will be on hand to chat about his work so come on out and meet him while he’s in Reno!
