Graveyard Poetry Workshop

October 26, 2018 @ 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM $5

In this workshop, we’ll make collages and found poems using grave rubbing techniques, assembling poems out of the language we find all over the cemetery. Part seance, part poetry workshop, we’ll see if we can get the dead to tell us something!

Our guide will be Nevada poet Jared Stanley at the Mountain View Cemetery. Supplies fee is $5.

About Jared Stanley: Stanley is a writer and visual artist. He is the author of three full-length collections of poetry and many chapbooks, pamphlets, artist editions and ephemera, including A Continual Hint, Green Hearts and Fire to You, How the Desert Did Me In and Special Newlands Extraction Rubbing. Other writing has recently appeared in Triple Canopy, Literary Hub, The Offing and Poem-a-Day. Stanley has received fellowships from the Nevada Arts Council and Center for Art and Environment. He was born in Arizona, raised in the East Bay and lives in Reno, Nevada.
