An Introduction to Home Recording
February 20, 2021 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM • $20 – $100
In the first of a workshop series on Home Recording, we tackle everything you need to start making music from the comfort of your own home. Open to home audio-engineers of all skill levels, you won’t need any prior knowledge of home recording to participate. Any genre is welcome! Whether you’re starting a Guided By Voices ripoff band, kicking off your soundcloud rap career, or recording metalcore covers of pop songs in your room; this workshop will give you the tools you need to get movin’. Ticket to this workshop also includes remote Q&A and feedback with instructors through march.
In this workshop we’ll teach you about:
- How to set up your home studio.
- Signal – and how to get it
- Overdubs and basic production
- Using your Digital Audio Workspace (DAW), and the basics of MIDI
For this workshop, you will need access to a computer. We are offering full kits for the remaining supplies (which you keep!), which include: studio headphones, recording interface, xlr cable and a microphone (select the $100 workshop option below, for ticket + kit). If you have all these supplies already, you won’t need to buy the kit (simply select $20 option, for ticket only). If you are in need of financial assistance to participate in the workshops, or rent equipment you can email us at alisha@hollandreno.org.
