MESHES is a monthly meet-up inviting contemporary video artists to screen their own work alongside video material that informs, inspires, or provides context to their practice. The Meshes 2018-19 Winter Series continues January 29th with Los Angeles based artist Devin Troy Strother.
Strother is recognized for his mixed media works that delve into issues around race and the African American experience, pulling from pop-culture, music, stand-up comedy, and the works of numerous canonic artists such as Joseph Cornell, Marcel Duchamp, and Henri Matisse. His work often incorporates unabashed humor and the outrageous. Strother is also a co-founder of one of our fave independent presses, Coloured Publishing.
