CANCELLED: Pocket Vinyl, Unsupported and Proud, Daniel Medellin

April 5, 2020 @ 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Songs about death, sexual baggage, mental illness, and finding God in moments when you doubt It’s existence the most may make you shy away at first glance. The intention, though, is not to run from these things, but to face them head on. To look your fears, worries, and pain in the eyes and truly understand them. This is what Pocket Vinyl’s music has largely been about.

Since 2010, Eric Stevenson and Elizabeth Jancewicz have been touring around the country as Pocket Vinyl. Their live acts consists of Eric slamming the piano while Elizabeth creates an engaging and beautiful painting on stage, which is auctioned off to the highest bidder. Every painting, and thus show, is unique. They’ve played over 900 shows, released 6 albums, several EPs, 19 t-shirts, and one full length feature documentary film called “Drive. Play. Sleep.” in the fall of 2017.

“Drive. Play. Sleep.” follows Pocket Vinyl in their adventures around the country in the first person perspective, having filmed the entire movie themselves. They also interviewed countless small musicians across the country, all trying to make a living on tour making music. All together, it portrays an accurate and surprising look at a national underground music scene like no other film has done. It’s a music documentary like none other.
