Sunland #2: Art & Music

We are thrilled to host the second event in our quarterly salon-style discussion series, Sunland, on May 7 at Sundance Books and Music (on California Ave). The theme is Art and Music, and the symbiotic relationship between the two. Our first event in February was SO AWESOME, we’re looking forward to this one with a ton of excitement. Speakers are Omar Pierce (1-800-Cherrys), Jon Kortland (Iron Lung, Feeding), and Matt Sullivan (Light in the Attic Records). This event is meant, as the salons of yore, “to delight and inspire.” We hope to see you there!
Theme: Art & Music
A look at the connection between art and music, and at the artists, photographers, designers, and documentarians who helped define certain bands, scenes, and genres. We’ll also explore the symbiotic relationship between artists and musicians; at collaborative projects; at elements like album design, posters, logos; and how we remember certain iconic imagery from specific scenes and musical eras. We will also chat about musicians/bands who have a very distinct aesthetic or who’ve made art/design/fashion an important part of their own identity, and at artists whose work is defined by music.
