Tanner McCardle & Zdenek Robert Balcarek Opening Reception

The summer season is coming in strong at the Holland Project Gallery with two exciting exhibitions featuring works by local painter Zdenek Robert Balcarek and Los Angeles based artist Tanner McCardle.
Balcarek’s exhibtion, Between the Gray and the Red | The Political is Personal, is based on personal memories and experiences while investigating the sociopolitical environment of his home country, Czechoslovakia, during the Cold War era.
Rife with personal and cultural symbols and relics, McCardle’s exhibition, Objects, consists of mixed media assemblage and collage works depicting concepts of mourning, life past death and the degradation and preservation of personal memories.
The exhibitions will run from June 16 – July 11 with an opening reception on Thursday, June 19 from 5-8PM. Both artists will be present to give an informal talk about their work during the reception.
