Virtual Artist Talk: River Raft Quilts Series 1: Jubilee! & Feel Just Like Home

Please join us to celebrate the solo exhibitions of Coulter Fussell, River Raft Quilts Series 1: Jubilee! and Cicelia Ross-Gotta’s, Feel Just Like Home. The artists will be in conversation with the exhibition curators Michelle Lassaline and Michelle Laxalt as they dive deep into the context of their exhibitions and discuss at depth their artistic practices. 

Coulter Fussell was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, an old textile town. She is the youngest family quilter, hailing from multi-generations of seamstresses and quilters. She produces boundary-pushing quilt-works using old, discarded and donated textiles as her sole materials. Coulter has exhibited works across the country from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to the Piecework Collective in New York City to The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art in Charleston, South Carolina.

Cicelia Ross-Gotta is originally from Kansas,  and earned her BFA in Sculpture from Colorado State University in 2015, and her MFA in 3D4M (sculpture) from the University of Washington in 2017. That year she also became a mother. Her work has been exhibited throughout Seattle including, The Henry Gallery, Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park, Gallery 4Culture and Bainbridge Gallery of Art and Crafts.
