Young Blood Sign-Up Deadline!

Young Blood is a pop-up exhibition showcasing work by local up and coming artists under 21. It’s a great opportunity for young artists to gain some experience exhibiting their work as well as a chance to see what other young local art makers have been creating. Young Blood happens twice each school year and typically takes place for one-night-only in the Holland Project Gallery. This year, as we adapt to the changes of COVID-19, the Fall 2020 Young Blood will take place in November as a virtual exhibition along with a printed publication/zine, which will include all of the submitted artwork. In lieu of an in-person reception, we’re planning a fun virtual zine release party which will be hosted on Zoom and will include a live DJ along with a stream of all the work in the exhibition/zine.
Here’s how it works:
- Artists must be under the age of 21 to participate in this exhibition and only one piece per artist may be submitted. There is no theme and any genre and/or medium of artwork is welcome.
- Each participating artist will receive one copy of the printed publication/zine from the exhibition and additional copies will be available for purchase from the Holland Project.
- Artists must submit a good quality, high resolution image of their artwork in order to be included in the printed publication and artists will have the opportunity to schedule a session to have their work professionally photographed at the Holland Project on Oct. 7th, 8th, or 9th between 1PM-5PM. Photo sessions will take about 10-15 min. per artist.
- The Holland Project maintains the right to exclude any artwork submissions that violate our Safer Space Policies. This includes and is not limited to any artwork containing: offensive and/or hateful imagery/content/language related to race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, ethnicity, or religion.
