RON RASH
Critters

April 2022 – June 2022

Being an avid hiker and outdoorsman, Ron Rash is constantly inspired by the landscape and animals of Nevada and the High Sierra. He’ll often use this imagery in his work as a tattoo artist. Unfortunately, in tattooing, artists often are constrained by certain limitations and parameters in the creative process. When making the paintings for Critters, Ron had the opportunity to combine techniques and line work similar to that of his tattoos with the freedom of painterly techniques and expression.

Ron Rash was born and raised in Reno, NV and has been making art for the past 30 years. While Ron is best known for his tattoo work, he is a prolific artist utilizing a variety of mediums. His work has been in solo and group shows from Reno to Beijing, published in books and magazines, and printed as several skateboard graphics over the years.

GRACE DAVIS
As Long as it Takes
January 2022 – March 2022
Closing Reception: March 31st, 6-8PM

Grace Davis works in a variety of mediums but primarily uses acrylic, gouache, graphite and charcoal to produce abstract botanical images on paper, panel, and canvas. Rather than producing photo-realistic still lives and landscapes, Grace focuses on the movement of the object, the vibration of color, and life. Her abstract drawings and paintings offer the viewer an alternative perspective to the natural and built world, encouraging pause and deeper observation. While not in her studio, Grace is often documenting the floral on hikes to use a reference material throughout Nevada and the Eastern Sierras. Grace has taught art classes to all ages across the country including painting, drawing, printmaking, and textile dyeing.

Grace Davis (she/her) is a native of Charleston, South Carolina currently residing in Reno, Nevada. A multi-media artist and educator, Grace received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Master of Arts, with an emphasis on Teaching and Learning in Art and Design, from Rhode Island School of Design.
