The Holland Project Gallery seeks to create the go-to art space in Reno to see young, contemporary artists and their influences both regionally and nationally. HP Galleries mission is to: facilitate exhibitions and events showcasing young, emerging, and professional artists; provide real-world experience in gallery practices for young and emerging artists; present curated and aesthetically considered exhibitions; create community collaborations through art; and offer tools and workshops for creative experimentation and development.
Below is an outline of HP Galleries’ 2021 programming and information about how your contribution can help intergenerational arts and culture thrive in our community when it needs it most. During the 4-month program, TOS students conceptualize and create original artwork utilizing skills learned during the weekly workshops and curate a group exhibition of their work which is displayed in the Holland Project Gallery at the end of the program.
OFFSITE GALLERIES
Holland currently operates two offsite galleries in downtown Reno including the Satellite Gallery at Cafe Capello and the Ferino Gallery at the Ferino Distillery. These offsite spaces give unique exhibition opportunities in high traffic locations to young and established regional artists alike. Satellite Gallery also functions as a learning space with exhibitions and programs being organized by our Gallery Interns.
YOUNG BLOOD
Young Blood is the semi-annual one-night-only pop-up showcasing the latest and greatest by regional artists under 21. Young Blood takes place seasonally throughout the school year giving the young creative makers and shakers of Reno a chance to show off their artistic skills and what they’ve been working on. It’s also an opportunity for aspiring artists to learn the ins-and-outs of installing art in a professional gallery setting.
