Unfortunately I’m pressed for time this week as I’ve got a flight to catch in a little while, but this one link that I’m sharing is more than enough to keep y’all busy until I get back from the Arctic Midwest.
STRANGE MAPS: A journal devoted to finding and dissecting maps of all sorts. Perhaps this speaks volumes to me as when I was a wee lad I would spend hours drawing fantastical landforms on graph paper. Nevertheless, there are so many good things here — a rendering of what George Orwell’s 1984 might look like, an examination of the Sykes-Picot Plan, and the story of the Lost Continent of Mu, just to name a few — that I’m sure every single one of you can find something to love.
That is, unless you’re a heartless bastard. And no one likes a heartless bastard on Valentine’s Day, so suck it up — http://strangemaps.wordpress.com/

Awesome. I can see not getting my homework done and playing with this for hours…you know me, I love maps. All my current drawings are maps combining various degrees of real and imagined places…

Maps! Nice one, Mikey… Geography is so cool, especially geography of make-believe places. And maps are such an amazing art. If you have any of your old ones from when you were a kid I’d be happy to hang them on my fridge! Have fun in the Midwest, and hopefully you know which states border Iowa. If not, study a map, son.

My shower curtain is a map of the world. This is why I now take such long showers. Sorry drought.
Neat post, I’m sure that I won’t accomplish anything meaningful for a very long time to come.
Thanks!
