It happened last night at Holland…

Holy moly. My heart is still melted and my soul still filled with sun and light and energy and all things good from last night’s Holland show with Anathallo, Caspia, and Ashton. Ashton got everyone in the mood by cranking it out with sounds that rolled through the Holland space like thunder–rock thunder that is. As midwesters Anathallo began to set up their intricate set (lots of drums, horns, various strings, xylophones, bells, keyboard, guitars, mics galore..), we braced ourselves for something truly terrific–and believe me, we got way more. The 7 or 8 piece band (nine? ten? definitely seemed like a small melodic army of sort, armed with almost every instrument known to man), blew our socks off and had the entire audience holding their breath in disbelief. Simply beautiful, but also a ton of fun. And we at Holland are determined to have them back soon–and when we do, you’ll want to be there with your entire posse in tow. They were that good. LA’s Caspia finshed the night by paying respect to Reno’s own Project Moonshine and playing some of the finely crafted original tracks they created especially for the Moonshine film, Being Here. As the lights dimmed and Moonshine and other footage played in the background, Caspia’s hyponotic electro beats swept us away to a dreamy place. Some photos below, but check out Flickr HERE .
