On Saturday November 8th, Rainshadow CCHS will be hosting a fundraiser at the Studio on Fourth at 432 East Fourth Street from 7 to 11 pm in an effort to raise funds for this year’s upcoming boy’s basketball season. The show will include student performers in the arts, graduated students, and local artists performing in a diverse range of music, comedy, poetry, and improvisation. All proceeds will go to benefit Rainshadow Community Charter Highs School. Rainshadow is an alternative school grounded in providing project based, real world hands on learning, servicing at-risk youth today in Reno, NV. The addition of a boy’s basketball team three years ago has provided another outlet and incentive for the students to work hard and build community.

This November’s fundraiser will feature adult artist’s Empire Improv group, a professional troupe of improvisational actors and performers headed up by Michael Lewis, an UCLA and Improv Olympic alumni. He directs and leads a cast of incredibly funny performers including seasoned Chicago and Las Vegas performer Ben Craig and upcoming witty published writer and performer Tim Dufrisne. Opening for the Empire Improv group will be Reno’s own funnyman Christian Reyes, winner of several major comedy competitions including Jimmy Kimmel’s ASU comedy contest earlier in the fall of last year. Christian will be performing at the Silver Legacy November fourth through the ninth, starting at 9PM. Following Empire Improv will be a cast of professional comics, including Rowie and Michael Van Kirk, along with the talented crew of poets from Spoken Views. Emic and Locus and the Dangerous Minds crew will round out the evening with their own style of hip-hop.

Please come out and support youth in Reno, NV and join in the fun and festivities that will be playing November 8th from 7-11 PM at the Studio on Fourth Street in downtown Reno. Hope to see you there.
