CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: POP-UP PORTRAIT SHOW

ABOUT: The Holland Project is seeking portrait submissions to be included in a pop-up exhibition occurring February 24-27, 2015. The closing reception will be held on February 27th, in conjunction with the launch of Holland’s Art Patrons Program.

THE VENUE: The Holland Project Gallery is a contemporary fine arts gallery in Reno, Nevada exhibiting emerging and professional artists. We are located at 140 Vesta St. and open Tuesday-Friday 3-6PM.

REQUIREMENTS

ELIGIBILITY: Open to artists of all ages who reside in or around Reno, Nevada. Jurors are seeking artworks they consider contemporary investigations of portraiture. The definition of a “portrait” remains open to the artist for their interpretation. All work must be original. It is at the jurors’ discretion to choose single or multiple works from each artist’s submission.

MEDIA: Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, works on paper, fiber arts, digital media, film and video, and sculpture will be accepted. All works must be ready to hang, some equipment can be provided for artists working in new technologies and video.
SALES: Artwork sales will be encouraged and the Holland Project Gallery will retain a 20% commission from the retail price provided by the artist. Work that is not available for purchase will be listed as NFS.

ONLINE IMAGE SUBMISSIONS: Submissions are only accepted via e-mail to alisha@hollandreno.org. Artists should send a minimum of one (1) image and a maximum of two (2) images for consideration. Please include the following information:

ACCEPTED WORKS: Artists will be notified of acceptance between February 18-19th. Works must arrive ready to install and delivered to the Holland Project on or before Sunday, February 22nd. Pieces received outside of this timeframe may not be exhibited. All works must remain on display for the entire exhibition from February 24-27.
