Hooked features the work of 24 young artists who took part in the 2019 Teen Open Studio program. Teen Open Studio is a partnership program between the Holland Project and Nevada Museum of Art, which introduces art and design practices to high school students from the region. Over the course of the last four months, Teen Open Studio artists met weekly for masterclass styled workshops covering a range of topics including sculpture with artist Kara Savant, screen printing with Hannah Huntley of Laika Press, video art with Chris Lanier, and mural design with Nathaniel Benjamin. Museum curators, Anne Wolfe and JoAnn Northrup also lead wonderful tours of the Jack Malotte and Georgia O’Keefe exhibits at the NMA and gave a rundown of their curatorial process for both exhibits. A huge thank you goes out to all of the artist mentors that lead workshops and worked with Teen Open Studio this year!
